A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Niagara.
Significant rainfall is later expected today and tonight followed by very strong winds beginning overnight and early tomorrow morning.
A Colorado Low pressure system is expected to intensify into an early spring storm as it races across the Golden Horse shoe tonight.
This weather system will bring a rainfall of 15 to 30 millimetres, most of which will fall tonight.
A wind warning has already been posted for Niagara.
Powerful wind gusts are expected overnight and into tomorrow morning.
Closer to Lake Erie, those gusts could reach as high as 100 km/h.
