St. Catharines council is calling for answers after criminal charges against a controversial St. Catharines vet were dropped.
Last night, councillors unanimously passed Councillor Carlos Garcia's motion to send their objections to the Attorney General over the Doctor Mahavir Rekhi case.
The decision also calls for a formal, written explanation from the Crown to explain why the charges were withdrawn.
A copy of the document will also be sent to four Niagara MPPs.
Earlier this month, the crown dropped 16 animal cruelty charges against Dr. Rekhi saying the charges were filed without a formal complaint.
