St. Catharines man Gord Kidder will come home

Gord Kidder will be coming home.

The 74 year old St. Catharines man has been stuck in the Czech Republic after he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while there

Kidder was visiting Prague to honour the role his uncle played in the Great Escape from World War II.

A statement sent to CKTB from longtime friend Bill Herz says that due to the overwhelming generosity of close to 500 contributors Gord will finally be coming home.

Herz says the plan is, as long as he remains medically stable, to fly Kidder home by air ambulance next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Herz says there was a small setback that prevented Kidder from flying for several days, but he has now been cleared again to fly.

Herz says they will keep the GoFundMe campaign open until Kidder arrives in Canada, in the event of any unforeseen medical or transportation expenses, and to continue to update all of you.

The GoFundMe has raised $90,000 so far.
