Stevens throws her hat into NDP nomination contest

Another familiar face will be the running in the St. Catharines riding during the June provincial election.

Merritton ward Councillor Jennie Stevens has announced she will seek the NDP nomination.

Stevens says “People want change and I am pleased to be throwing my hat in the race to be the NDP candidate in St. Catharines.  I’ve spent fourteen years working with city staff, residents, community representatives, and councillors of all political stripes to get things done for Merritton and for the City of St. Catharines.  It’s time to move that experience to the provincial stage.”

Stevens will compete against fellow councillor Sandie Bellows who is running for the PC Party.

The riding's current Liberal MPP Jim Bradley's office say he is planning to run for a 12th term but the nomination meeting has not been held yet.
