Texting and driving survey released
As we head into the long weekend, a survey shows 84% of drivers keep their phones on them while driving.
InsuranceHotline.com commissioned the survey as we approach the end of Canada Road Safety Week;
It shows 41% of drivers said they are 'likely' or 'somewhat likely' to check text messages while sitting at stoplights.
Even though the vehicle is stopped, it still counts as distracted driving and you could face a $1,000 fine, three demerit points, and three day licence suspension the first time you are caught.
