The Shape of Water cleans up at Oscars
It was a big night for movie filmed in Hamilton:
The Shape of Water picked up the Oscar for Best Picture after netting 13 nominations overall.
Toronto producer J. Miles Dale shares the Best Picture win with director Guillermo del Toro.
The film won four awards last night - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score.
Filming primarily took place in Toronto and Hamilton.
Meanwhile, Best Actress went to Frances McDormand for her work in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Gary Oldman takes home Best Actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, and Allison Janney (I, Tonya) and Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) scooped up the Best Supporting awards.
