Thorold residents wondering what will happen to chimney tower
Residents in Thorold are wondering what will happen to a landmark in the south-end of their community.
As demolition crews continue to clear the old Beaverwood Fiber property, a 100 foot tall red brick chimney remains standing.
Some residents, like Jim McDowell are wondering if the chimney will be brought down, or will it remain as a historical marker on the property.
The 91 year old says the future of the chimney has piqued his curiosity, and if they take it down there should be a ceremony to mark the occasion .
CKTB has reached out to Georgia Pacific for comment on the future of the chimney.
