Time to sing, Let's go to the Ex
The 139th Canadian National Exhibition opens today.
One of the best reasons to go the fun and wacky food.
For the adventurous, there's Strawberry Short Steak, for meat lover the colossal Coliseum, the Canadian pickle ball, the Nova Scotia lobster Arrancini ball, topped off with a dessert aptly named Sugar Mountain.
CNE CEO Virgina Ludy says its not your grandparent's Ex any longer.
Ludy says when she joined the CNE management team the exhibition had a reputation as being dirty and out of date.
She notes that is not the case anymore
Ludy points out while the CNE is still an agricultural based fair, the focus this year will be on locally grown farming, as well as urban and vertical farming, perfect for the city dweller.
The CNE runs until September 4th.
