Tomorrow is Record Store Day

Record Store Day is marking its 10th anniversary.

Tomorrow is the day to celebrate indie record stores and the vinyl that defined more than one generation.

Chris Charkowy owner of Mindbomb Records in downtown St. Catharines, says vinyl sales have pulled record stores back from extinction.

Despite the demise of HMV, Doug Putnam, an Ancaster man who took over the Sunrise music chain, is counting on the upswing in physical media as he moves to expand across Canada.

Sunrise will take over 70 vacant HMV stores including the store at the Pen Centre.
