Trudeau makes a splash
Prime Minister Trudeau is spending the weekend on Vancouver Island, mixing meetings with community leaders with some kayaking.
Trudeau met in Tofino yesterday with local government and business leaders and later with Indigenous leaders, discussing a wide range of issues.
Earlier in the day he visited Gulf Islands National Park Reserve near Victoria where he had a minor mishap while getting into his kayak.
Trudeau slipped and ended up in the water.
He joked afterward that he was happy the national media was on hand to capture his unplanned dip and later tweeted that he at least made a splash.
Once he got on the water he was accosted by a boat with a bride and groom who posed for a selfie with the prime minister -- who kissed the bride twice.
