A burst of last-minute diplomacy failed to convince U-S President Donald Trump to keep America in the 2015 nuclear accord with Iran.
Trump is pulling out of the deal, a move that is seen as a profound blow to America's allies and one that potentially deepens Trump's isolation on the world stage.
Trump has regularly called it a horrible, one-sided deal that would never have brought peace.
The agreement lifted most U-S and international sanctions against Iran, which in return agreed to restrictions on its nuclear program making it impossible to produce a bomb, along with rigorous inspections.
