Trump bans reporter after clash

The White House Correspondents' Association is denouncing the decision to ban CNN correspondent Jim Acosta, calling it unacceptable and disproportionate to the alleged offence.

Trump spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders claims Acosta put his hands on a young intern as he tried to prevent her from taking back the microphone during a testy news conference exchange with US President Donald Trump yesterday.

Acosta says that's a lie.
