Two impaired arrests made during Canal Days
Niagara police stopped more than 500 vehicles during RIDE checks in Port Colborne yesterday.
Police set up the first checkpoint at 7:30 p.m and within the first half hour, two drivers were arrested for impaired driving.
One of the drivers was operating a motorcycle with a fake cardboard licence plate and was also a disqualified driver.
In addition to the criminal driving offences, officers also issued four tickets for various Highway Traffic Act offences.
Elsewhere in the Niagara Region, another four drivers were arrested for impaired driving offences, including one driver who was arrested and charged with drug impaired driving.
