Two people seriously hurt in single car crash in Fort Erie
Two people were seriously hurt after a car crashed into a hydro pole in Fort Erie early this morning.
Emergency crews arrived on scene around 1:50 a.m. and discovered a single car had left the road and hit a hydro pole, causing $8,000 worth of damage to the car, and $20,000 worth of damage to the pole.
Fort Erie Fire was called in to extricate one person from the vehicle due to the damage and live wires.
A 19 year old Fort Erie man was removed from the car and taken to a trauma centre in New York. The other person, a 23 year old from Fort Erie, was taken to an out of region hospital.
The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Thunder Bay Road between Windmill Point and Staniland Park has been closed for the investigation. Officers hope to have it reopened by midday.
