UPDATE | 42 yr old Pelham man facing weapon charges
A Pelham man is now facing charges after an incident in Pelham this morning.
Police were called to Beckett Cres. at 10 a.m. to a report of a distraught man within a home.
Officers were told firearms may be involved, so the NRP issued a 'shelter in place' for area residents in the interest of public safety.
Police, and a crisis negotiation team were called to the home, where a negotiator was able to speak to the man over the phone.
Shortly before noon, the man surrendered to police peacefully.
42 year old Michael Misener of Pelham is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.
He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday.
