UPDATE | Arrests made in Grimsby bank robbery and QEW crash
Two arrests have been made following a bank robbery in Grimsby two months ago.
It was on the afternoon of Wednesday February 27th when a bank was robbed on Main St. West by two suspects.
Shortly after it's believed the suspects ended up crashing their get-a-way car on the QEW near Casablanca Blvd.
Two men could be seen running from the crash, and cash was seen flying around the vehicle.
As a result of the robbery and crash, the Niagara Catholic District School Board placed hold and secures on our Lady Fatima, St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School, and Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School for a brief period of time.
Niagara Regional Police say they have worked with Durham Regional Police to identify the suspects.
21 year old Michael Christopher of Etobicoke has been charged with one count of robbery.
A 16 year old from Mississauga has also been charged with robbery.
It's believed they are responsible for more bank robberies, possibly in Kitchener, York Region, Durham Region, Barrie and an attempted bank robbery in Hamilton.
