Update : issue at Niagara hospital resolved
Elective surgeries were postponed earlier today at a Niagara hospital.
Niagara Health had to postpone some elective surgeries at the Welland Hospital Site because of an issue with the emergency backup generator.
Steven Gallagher, Communications Specialist says patients at the Welland Site who required emergency surgery were to be assessed and, if needed, taken to the St. Catharines and Niagara Falls sites.
However, Gallagher says the situation with the generator has now been resolved and elective surgeries will resume tomorrow, as scheduled.
If the public has any questions about their elective surgery, please call 905-378-4647, ext. 32082.
