Update | Niagara Regional Police discover body in Port Colborne
The dog park in Port Colbrone remains closed as police continue to investigate the circumstances regarding a body that was discovered Thursday.
Niagara Regional Police were intitially called to the Elm Street area for a wellfare check.
Their investigation lead to the discovery of the body of a 55 year old woman.
NRP say there is no concern for public safety within the dog park area.
Police are asking for the public's help and looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area of the dog park or observed a female walking with a dog on Elm Street sometime between Wednesday after 10 p.m. and up until Thursday morning at 7 a.m.
The dog found at the scene was a black Labrador Retriever.
The name of the deceased, who has been identified and next of kin notified, is not being released at this time.
