Police have seized multiple guns and some ammunition after a man in crisis was taken into custody.

Yesterday afternoon police were called to a home on Basswood Crescent in Niagara Falls and told the man inside may have guns.

Residents in the area were told to evacuate or shelter in place while the cops worked.

Crisis negotiators talked to the man for just shy of three hours before the 42 year old surrendered peacefully, was taken into custody under the Mental Health Act of Ontario, and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
