UPDATE - Police still searching for man following violent assault
The search continues for a man wanted for attempted murder in connection with a violent attack inside a St. Catharines bank.
Police tell CKTB a man assaulted a female employee at the RBC Bank on Martindale Road around 10:30am Friday.
Police say it was not a robbery or a domestic violence matter.
Police were also called to a Queenston Street home in St. Catharines around 10:15am Friday for a report of a child in medical distress. The child was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The identity of the child and the relationship between the child and the suspect is not being released.
Police continue to search for 43 year old Justin Kuijer, who is considered armed and dangerous.
The male suspect fled the scene in a van and is still on the loose.
The van is described as a Grey 2009 Pontiac Montana, plate number is B-Y-T-E-3-9-2.
This investigation remains ongoing by detectives. Anyone with information as to the location of Kuijer or the Pontiac van is asked to call 911.
