UPDATE | Warning issued with freezing rain expected in Niagara this Thursday afternoon

A freezing drizzle advisory in Niagara has ended but it has been replaced with a freezing rain warning.

Environment Canada says freezing rain will move across the region this afternoon then end by this evening as temperatures finally rise above the zero degree mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

We also have a wind warning in effect with high winds on the way.

Gusts from the southwest will reach up to 90 kilometres an hour overnight and early tomorrow.
