Waste collection is running a day behind in Niagara

A reminder that waste collection is running a day behind schedule this week after icy weather shut down most of Niagara Wednesday.

Regional officials say if your regular collection day was Wednesday February 6th, your waste will be collected today.

Thursday collection moves to Friday, and Friday collection moves to Saturday.

However, due to the continued inclement weather, there may be further changes to the collection schedule.

Officials say the Niagara Region will post updates later today.

They are also reminding residents about high winds expected overnight and tomorrow.

They are asking you to prevent blowing recyclables due to high winds by not placing your materials at the curb for collection until 7 a.m.
