Welland dog likely died of severe head trauma

A necropsy conducted on a Welland dog who died last week has concluded the likely cause of death was from severe head trauma.

Police and the Welland Humane Society were called to a Niagara Street hotel last Friday about an injured dog.

Officials say it will take more testing on the four year old American Eskimo named Kingston before an exact cause of death is known.

Two Welland residents, 22 year old Kyrstina Paonessa and her boyfriend 31 year old Jeffery Tisi were arrested and charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
