Welland grandmother helps with delivery
A Welland grandmother getting kudos from EMS after delivering her new granddaughter like a pro.
Mom Melissa Briggs thought she had time to get to the hospital late last month but her baby daughter had different plans, and decided to make an early appearance.
So her mother Debbie Hearn helped deliver baby Mackenzie in the bathroom of her Welland apartment.
Hearn kept her cool when she realized the umbilical chord was loosely wrapped around the baby’s head.
She kept her daughter calm and managed to unwrap the chord.
Both mother and baby are doing fine.
