WestJet getting into low cost airline business
WestJet Airlines plans to launch an ultra-low-cost airline to go after the price-sensitive end of the market.
The Calgary-based company says it will start with 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its initial fleet.
But before it can start offering no-frills, lower-cost flights, it has to reach an agreement with its pilots and get regulatory approvals.
