Wise Guys Park opens in south St. Catharines

Kids have somewhere new to play in south St. Catharines.

Kicking off Recreation and Parks Month, members from Wise Guys Charity Fund and the city gathered to officially open the park across from the Welland Canals Fallen Workers Memorial.

Wise Guys Charity Fund put $25,000 towards the new park.

The playground equipment includes a large adaptive swing set and markers that unlock interactive games and activities when scanned with a smartphone.

Accessible pathways will make getting around Wise Guys Park easier for residents.

"We are very excited about the official opening of Wise Guys Park," Doug Smith, chair of the Wise Guys Charity Fund says via a release. "Our mission is to raise awareness and financial support for local causes in Niagara, while improving the quality of life in our community. This new facility tangibly enhances this community and, more specifically, improves the lives of its youngest citizens."
