Woman, 76, taken to hospital after falling through ice trying to rescue her dog
Police say a 76-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she fell through the ice while trying to save her dog in Centre Wellington, Ont.
Provincial police say the woman became trapped in the ``frigid water'' of a private pond while trying to save the dog.
They say officers were able to pull the woman to safety.
Centre Wellington firefighters and Guelph-Wellington paramedics also responded, and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment for exposure.
Police say the dog was able to get out on its own, and was unharmed.
