Woman charged in stabbing of her newborn; baby in critical condition
Toronto police have charged the mother of a newborn child who remains in critical condition after he was stabbed earlier this week.
Police say the 36-year-old woman was also found with stab wounds at a home on Wednesday afternoon.
She has been remanded in custody after appearing before a magistrate yesterday on a charge of attempted murder.
A police spokesman says the situation remains ``touch-and-go'' for the infant, who is less than a month old.
Police are not releasing further details in an effort to protect the victim's identity.
