Zombies will be roaming the streets of Welland, but all for a good cause.
The 8th annual Welland Zombie Walk is happening tonight in the downtown core.
Onlookers are welcome to watch as the living dead shamble through the streets collecting non-perishable donations for people and pets in support of the Hope Centre and Pets Alive Niagara.
You'll find more than just zombies though; the Brampton Batman is bringing the 89 Batmobile and kids can meet wrestlers Rage and Beautiful Bea.
Organizer Steve Lambert tells CKTB's Matt Holmes the event has really grown while similar events in the GTA have been cancelled.
"We've been holding strong at about 300 people over the last few years, but it's never been this big in terms of the draw, having the Batmobile and wrestlers."
The walk starts at 6 p.m. along Hellems Ave between Main Street and Division Street - Hellems Ave will be closed from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. for the event.
Anyone planning to shamble through the streets is asked to don their best zombie costume and meet in front of the Central Fire Hall.
