Auto insurance increases

Figures released show auto insurance rates in Ontario increased during the last quarter of 2017.
That means the Liberal government is even further away from its promise to cut rates by 15 per cent.
The fourth quarter numbers from the Financial Services Commission of Ontario show an average increase of about one per cent.
The province's finance ministry says that amounts to a nearly 5.5 per cent average decrease in rates since 2013.
The government had promised an average decrease of 15 per cent by August of 2015 but after that deadline passed, Premier Kathleen          Wynne said it had been a ``stretch goal.''
