Cannabis Driving Charges

Kawartha Lakes OPP remind drivers that if transporting cannabis, it must be in its original package that has not been opened or packaged in baggage that is fastened closed or is not readily available to any person in the vehicle.

Four drivers are facing various cannabis related charges after being stopped by Kawartha Lakes OPP last weekend.

Most were charged with Driving a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, with one facing a charge of  Possession for the Purpose of Distributing as well.

And a 31 year old Whitby woman, Courtney Paats, faces impaired driving by Alcohol and drugs charges after a single vehicle crash on Sturgeon Road south of Downeyville Sunday.
