Donation for transportation van

Community Care Health and Care Network of Kawartha Lakes received an eight thousand dollar grant to help them with the purchase of a new retrofitted specialized transportation van.

Community Care has nine such vans that are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and stretchers for non-emergency services such as to and from medical appointments and discharges from hospital.

The fleet provides about 12,000 rides per year.

The grant was provided by the Gay Lea Foundation, which supports education, poverty relief, and community well-being projects in Canada and around the world.
