Environmental programs

The City of Kawartha Lakes has many programs to help divert waste from landfills with two of them happening in the next couple days.

Environment Round-Up days allow you to drop-off household hazardous waste, electronics, small appliances and bulky plastics to be recycled for free.

Round-Up days will take place from 8am to 12pm, this Saturday at the Coboconk Roads Depot, then again June 22nd at Fenelon Falls Community Centre and July 6th at Bobcaygeon Public School.

And for Leaf and Yard waste, residents are encouraged to place it at the curb by 7am tomorrow, if your regular collection is on a Tuesday or Thursday and Friday June 21st if your regular collection is on a Monday or Wednesday.

Leaf and yard waste must be in paper yard waste bags or bundled with string or twine.

Leaf and yard waste can also be taken to any landfill site throughout the year.
