A free shuttle has been arranged for Cannington residents who would otherwise be unable to leave town for groceries.
What started as a small electrical fire at the town's Foodland over the Christmas holidays, has forced the store to close it's doors for at least six weeks.
Kawartha Lakes This Week reports Brock Township Councilor Walter Schummer has organzed twice weekly shuttles to Beaverton's Independent Grocer for Cannington residents who can’t get out on their own.
The shuttle will run Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving at 11 a.m. with pickup and drop off service.
Residents can contact Councilor Schummer (705-432-8464) to arrange the shuttle or for more information.
