International Plowing Match Lindsay

The Ontario Plowmen's Association says Lindsay has ticked all of the boxes to hold the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in 2020.

OPA President Sheila Marshall says Lindsay is a great spot, in a fantastic, agriculturally rich community.

It was last held in the Lindsay area in 1992.

The International Plowing Match will bring more than eighty thousand visitors and a possible economic impact of about $25 million to the Kawartha Lakes the week after Thanksgiving.

It was pushed back a few weeks from its traditional date in order to fit into the schedule at the Lindsay Exhibition ground, which will house Tented City.

It includes plowing competitions, live entertainment , hundreds of exhibitors and demonstrations.

This year's event will be held in Verner, West Nipissing from Sept. 17 to 21.
