Kawartha Lakes police briefs for the long weekend.


Kawartha Lakes Police had a busy Canada Day weekend with 106 calls for service.

Overnight Sunday a homeowner awoke to an intruder in their a Needham street home as the residents slept. The suspect fled the home with some personal property belonging to the homeowner.  

Police say they charged a Quebec woman Sunday as well in an ongoing fraud investigation where an employee of an organization in Lindsay did not receive their payroll deposit in February.

Canada Day saw them charge a woman with impaired on Howard Avenue in Lindsay just before 1 a.m. Twenty-three-year-old Alannah Aiden Beach of Coboconk has a court date in August.
