Summer Lunch Pilot project

The Food Security Working Group in the Kawartha Lakes is running a pilot project in the Lindsay area, that will provide lunch for children on summer break.

The Salvation Army and Kawartha Lakes Food Source, who are part of the group, are partnering on the project.

Food Source Executive Director Heather Kirby says the lunch program will fill a need for kids in the community.

A brown bag lunch will be provided every Wednesday and Friday from July 4th until August 31st.

Between 100 and 125 kids expected to use the program, which will provide a brown bag lunch every Wednesday and Friday from July 4th until August 31st.

Contact the Food Source or Salvation Army if you would like to volunteer or to make a monetary or food donation for the program.
