United Way begins fundraising campaign

The United Way of Kawartha Lakes has begun their 2018/19 fundraising campaign looking to raise 500 thousand dollars for the many agencies they support.

This year's campaign chair is Kawartha Lakes Police Chief Mark Mitchell.

The United Way also announced Thursday morning that Crayola Canada in Lindsay is giving 30 thousand square feet of land to be developed in to a community garden.

Fleming college staff and students will help with developing and maintaining the garden which will be used to enhance fresh produce for the Good Food Box, meals on wheels and Kawartha Lakes Food Source programs.
