Fishin' for Cash Rules and Regulations
Fishin’ for Cash
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. The Fishin’ for Cash contest (the “Contest”) starts at 6:00 a.m. EST on September 17, 2018 and closes on October 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. EST (the “Contest Period”). No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
2.The Contest sponsor is 92.3 The Dock, a division of Bell Media Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsor”).
3.To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Ontario, Canada and be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Employees and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest Sponsor, its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, prize sponsors, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, are ineligible to enter. Winners of a previous Bell Media Inc. contest within the forty (40) days preceding the winner selection date for this Contest (including persons designated by such winners to participate in the prize and persons domiciled with a winner) are not eligible to enter and may be disqualified.
4.TO ENTER the Contest, an announcement will be made two (2) to three (3) times each weekday during the Contest Period, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST, telling listeners to call in for a chance to play (each, an “Announcement”). When you hear an Announcement, call the 92.3 The Dock contest line at 519-470-3625 (the “Contest Line”). In the event the entrant is outside of the local calling area, standard long distance rates as charged by the entrant’s long distance service provider will apply. The correct caller through on the Contest Line following an Announcement, as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its own discretion (each, a “Contestant”) will be eligible to play Fishin’ for Cash (the “Game”) for a chance to win a Prize as described below. The odds of a caller being selected as a Contestant and playing the Game for a chance to win a Prize will depend upon the total number of individuals calling the Contest Line following an Announcement on any weekday of the Contest Period. A caller can be a Contestant more than once. Once he/she wins the Game, he/she cannot be a Contestant again. The Contestant will be announced on air and will be required to play the Game on-air. If there is no clear telephone connection between 92.3 The Dock and a Contestant, such that one or each other cannot hear the other, such Contestant will be disqualified, and the Contest Sponsor will not be liable in any way for such failed connection. The object of the Game is to cast a fishing line off the dock for a chance to win a cash prize. The Contestant will hear a voice announcing an amount of money (minimum of $1 to a maximum amount of $2,500) varying in value. This amount will increase randomly. With each changing amount, the Contestant has the option to stop and win the amount of cash just announced or he/she may continue and cast another line off the dock. At any time, the next cast could pull in an item of trash, and if that occurs, the Contestant does not win a cash prize. Each eligible winner will then be required to provide a representative of 92.3 The Dock with their name, address, age and telephone number.
5.Cash Prizes: A total of $10,000 in cash prizes is available to be won throughout the Contest Period (each a “Prize”). As Prizes are won during the Contest Period, the number of Prizes available to be won will be adjusted accordingly by the Contest Sponsor, at its sole discretion. The number of Prizes to be awarded will depend on the number of successful Contestants who win the Game and the amount of each Prize awarded to each winner. The minimum Prize offered to a particular Contestant will be $1.00. The maximum Prize which may be won by a particular Contestant will be $2,500. Prizes won will be awarded in the form of a cheque. If all Prizes are awarded prior to the end of the Contest Period, the Contest will end immediately. Limit of one (1) Prize per household.
6.Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes may not be transferred. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prize is unavailable. Prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein.
7.Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, each potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by 92.3 The Dock. Before being awarded a Prize, potential winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor, a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read, understood and complied with these Rules, grants all consents required, agrees to be available and to participate in publicity and/or promotions related to the Contest and/or the Contest Sponsor and/or similar matters, authorizes the Contest Sponsor to broadcast, publish, disseminate and otherwise use his/her name, city/town/village and province of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify the potential winner, and forfeit the Prize and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential winner, shall be applied, with the necessary amendments, until all qualified winners have been duly confirmed. Once confirmed as a winner, winner must present him/herself in person at 92.3 The Dock, 787 9th Ave E, Owen Sound ON during business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. EST) Monday to Friday (excluding Holidays) within thirty (30) days of being confirmed as a winner to pick up his/her Prize or the Prize will be forfeited.
