A warning from Owen Sound police

Early Tuesday morning officers responded to the area of the 600 block of 26th Street West with regards to a suspicious person seen in the area.

A concerned resident alerted the police after he had observed a male party checking doors to neighbouring homes.

Officers conducted a search of the area for the individual but were not able to locate him at the time.

A report was later made to the Owen Sound Police by a resident in the area who discovered two Ipads to be missing.

They had been left sitting inside the home next to an unlocked door.

The Owen Sound Police wish to remind residents to ensure that they secure all doors and ground floor windows especially before turning in for the evening.

“We do not need to make it easy for criminals to gain entry into our homes.”

As well, for no one to hesitate to call the police when they see someone or something that they feel is suspicious any time of the day or night.

If anyone has information about this crime they are encouraged to contact the Owen Sound Police Service at (519) 376-1234 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS). A secure web-tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at www.cstip.ca.
