Driver blows three times the legal limit

They were called to an apartment complex on Victoria Street just before 9pm on Tuesday.

While responding, officers watched a vehicle being driven erratically around the parking lot.

At one point, the vehicle drove towards the cruisers, nearly striking one of the officers standing nearby.

When the vehicle came to a stop, police noted that the lone driver showed signs of impairment.

The male was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the OPP Detachment for breath tests, which he failed.

Test results indicated that he had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

James Richard CLEMENT, 44-years old of the Municipality of Meaford, was charged with impaired driving and having liquor readily avaialble.

The vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence suspended.
