OPP use chopper to assist in take down

 

On September 4, 2018 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the South Bruce and Huron OPPwere conducting an investigation on Concession Road 4 near Teeswater, Bruce County.

Police spotted a stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it but the driver would not stop.

OPP Aviation Services were called in and the Eurocopter  'chopper' kept sight of the vehicle.

Police arrested a male and female after they abandoned the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, west of Harriston.

The investigation has led to two individuals being charged.

24-year-old Damien Dallas YORKE-THOMAS of Huron-Kinloss Twp. was held for bail and charged with:

Two counts of Flight from Police

Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000

Two counts of Driving while Disqualified

Two counts of Dangerous Driving

Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon

Possession of Methamphetamine

Mischief under $5000

Failing to comply with a Probation Order

27-year-old Heidi Lynne DIEMERT of Huron-Kinloss Twp. is scheduled to appear in Criminal court on October 9, 2018 and has been charged with:

Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000

Possession of Methamphetamine
