Fatal pedestrian collision in Shallow Lake under investigation

Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision in Shallow Lake. 

It happened around 12:30 Monday morning on Highway 6 between Maplewood Crescent and Spencer Street. 

OPP  arrived at the scene with members of Inter-Township Fire Department and Grey County Paramedics.

A pedestrian was transported to hospital with vital signs absent and was later pronounced dead at hospital. 

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. 

No names have been released yet. 

Highway 6 was closed between Stoneman Drive and Grey Road 170 for about 10 hours.  

Police also issued a plea for residents to be on the look out for a missing dog involved in the collision. 

The St. Bernard mix was last seen just before the incident. 

Officials have not confirmed social media posts that the dog has been found deceased.
