Local high miler nabbed on the Peninsula
On May 10, 2019 at approximately 3:27 p.m., a member of the Grey-Bruce Detachment of the OPP observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while overtaking several vehicles southbound on Highway 6 south of Mar in South Bruce Peninsula.
The vehicle, a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck, was traveling at speeds in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/hr speed limit.
A 67-year old Chesley man was was charged with racing.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 17, 2019.
The busy stretch has been the scene of numerous fatal collisions over the past few years and isn't getting any safer with the increasing onslaught of tourists.
