Man charged after barricading himself inside Huron-Kinloss home
South Bruce OPP have laid charges in connection with an incident in Huron-Kinloss.
Police were called just after 5am Sunday, August 11 and brought in the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well as the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Canine Unit and the OPP Crisis Negotiators after a man had barricaded himself inside a residence on Bruce Road 1.
After approximately 8 hours the OPP TRU Team entered the residence and took the accused into custody.
The accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Assault with a Weapon S. 267(a) CC
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose S. 88 CC
- Utter Threats Cause Death S. 264.1(1)(a) CC
- Mischief S. 431(b) CC
The accused will remain in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton on August 12, 2019.
Bruce Road 1 was closed between Guest Avenue and Statters Lake Avenue as a result of this investigation
