OPP identify man charged in fatal boating accident off Colpoys Bay

On June 7, 2019 at 10:33 p.m. Grey Bruce OPP were called after complainants reported hearing calls for help coming from on the water in Colpoys Bay, Georgian Bay.

Police learned a 16 foot vessel sunk and four males were in the water.

Three males were rescued from the water. Two males, 19 and 22 years of age, had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance for cold water exposure.

The fourth male was found deceased in the water.

He has been identified as Tyson DENNING, 26-years-old from East Garafraxa Township.(Orangeville area)

Denning had been working at the Neyaashiinigmiing First Nations Water Treatment Plant in Cape Croker.

He leaves behind his two parents and four siblings.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Christopher SOLOMON, 39-year-old male from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation with impaired operation of a vessel causing death.

The incident is still under investigation.
