Purple fentanyl seized after arrest of Owen Sound man

On April 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. members of the Owen Sound Police Service were conducting an investigation near the intersection of 6th Street and 2nd Avenue East. 

An officer observed a man, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, exit an area apartment building. 

The 29 year old resident of Owen Sound was placed under arrest by police. 

The man was subsequently found in possession of a small quantity of highly potent purple Fentanyl. 

In addition to previous unresolved charges that gave rise to his arrest warrants, the man faces an additional charge of possession of Fentanyl contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was detained in custody pending a show cause hearing.
