In December, the 98.3 FLY FM & 98.9 THE DRIVE Toy Drive in conjunction with the Kingston Salvation Army will distribute toys to over 2,700 area children who find themselves in difficult circumstances this holiday season. Again this year, we will be making sure there is something under the tree for the teens, too - we will be purchasing gift cards for those 13 to 16 years of age! We can’t accomplish this enormous undertaking without the continued support of Kingston area businesses, local groups and individuals. The success of the 98.3 FLY FM & 98.9 THE DRIVE Toy Drive depends entirely on the generosity of donations from the Kingston community. This is why we are looking to you for support.

Toy Donations

New unwrapped toy donations can be dropped off at Cataraqui Centre in the lower level or at any TD Canada Trust in Kingston from November 14 to December 17, 2016.

In order to ensure the toys meet our criteria and to ensure fair distribution of the toys, we ask that, when purchasing/collecting toys, you follow these guidelines:

• Toys are provided to children aged newborn to 12 years old

• No “violent toys” ie: toy guns, boxing gloves, etc.

• Value of a toy donation should not exceed $50

Some Suggestions for Toy Donations:

• Newborn items/toys

• Lego

• Items/toys for children age 9 to 12 (we receive minimal donations for these age groups)

Monetary donations can be made from November 14 to December 17, 2016 at all five TD Canada Trust branches in Kingston:

• East End - 235 Gore Road

• Downtown - 94 Princess Street

SPECIAL THANK YOU’S:

The Frontenac Mall
The Frontenac Mall has graciously donate their space for our TOY DRIVE Headquarters for the Christmas Season.  The immense task of sorting, packing and distributing toys for over 2700 children is not possible without the help of their staff and volunteers.

AMJ Campell
Our official delivery and storage partner for the Toy Drive, who kindly donate their trucks, staff and a storage facility. The logistic process for picking up hundreds and hundreds of toys would not be possible with out the help of the staff at AMJ Campell Kingston.

About

About the 98.3 FLY FM & 98.9 THE DRIVE Toy Drive

Since 1978 the 98.3 FLY FM & 98.9 THE DRIVE Toy Drive has ensured that less fortunate children in our community will have new toys on Christmas morning.  This season, the Toy Drive will distribute toys and gift cards to over 2,700 less fortunate children in our area.  Bell Media Radio stations (98.3 FLY FM / 98.9 THE DRIVE) are working once again in conjunction with the Kingston Salvation Army to accomplish this overwhelming task.

The Kingston Salvation Army handles all referrals and requests for families.  The public can visit The Kingston Salvation Army - Community and Family Services at 342 Patrick Street. (613-548-4411).
