Kingston Hit With First Major Snowfall of 2019
Motorists in Kingston and across Eastern Ontario had their winter driving skills put to the test for the first time this season on Thursday.
Police asked drivers to give themselves extra time for their commute, slow down, and leave plenty of space between the vehicle ahead of them, after roughly 5-10 centimetres of snow fell Wednesday night, and another 2-4 expected Thursday morning.
Plows were out overnight, but there were still some snow-covered and icy roads for the morning commute.
Fortunately there were no major collisions in town, but the OPP responded to a number of crashes that slowed down traffic on both sides of the 401 between Brockville and Prescott.
