Leeds OPP Lay a Dozen Stun Driving Charges Over the Holidays
The group dubbed the Twelve Stunt Drivers of Christmas by Leeds County OPP will be using other methods of transportation for the first part of the new year.
Provincial police say these twelve drivers will answer to stunt driving charges in Brockville Court after being spotted traveling 57 to 100 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limits on the 401 and Highway 15 over the holiday season.
They had their vehicles impounded for 7 days, and their licenses suspended as a result.
Leeds County Detachment Commander Inspector Mike Francis reminds drivers, "Speed limits are in place for a reason - the limit is set at the maximum safe speed to travel on a particular stretch of road. The faster you are travelling, the less time you have to react to the unexpected."
